The purpose of our project, "Making Shakespeare Come Alive" is to fully immerse our students into the Shakespeare play they read in 8th grade English Language Arts (“Romeo and Juliet" or "The Taming of the Shrew"). We want to give our students the opportunity to become fully engrossed in the play by wearing appropriate costumes and using relevant props. Not only will this encourage students to enjoy themselves and Shakespeare's beautiful use of language, it will also enhance their understanding of the characters and the historical context of each work.
